When i boot my PC, the initial BIOS screen, and the windows loadup screen appear in a wierd way.

About the top2 inches of the screen appear at the bottom, whilst the rest is shifted up. This doesnt happen anywhere else...just on the windows load screen and very first screen. Even inside the BIOS is normal and the 2nd load screen.

(Way to describe it....imagine the address bar and the top window bar being beneath the start menu, then the top of this web page at the top of the screen.)

This makes no sense to me....i have tried restarting...shutting down, resetting the monitor everytime and cutting all power, and resetting everything. It was fine 2 hours ago...turn it back on and this :S

I have a similar problem on my "router" computer.

On startup, the POST screen and initial Windows loading screen have little white lines running through them. Once Windows loads, everything is fine.

Personally, I'm not horribly worried about it. Don't know what's causing it, diagnostics show nothing wrong, etc...........I'm almost wondering if it's an SP2 glitch, but that shouldn't affect the pre-Windows screens........but, then again, if the newer vid card drivers are loading sooner than they did before, that might cause it.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much, my machine has been doing this for months now, and there's no problems.

Yes, Fu**ed Up Beyond All Recognition

Im with you on this FnF...nothing is actually wrong...no performance glitches and BIOS is still fully functional...i reset CMOS, and re-did all of my overclocks and it had no problems. I will just get used to it, and will only worry if it happens anywhere else.

Had me confused though, as you said...graphics drivers arent loaded until windows is.

Sounds like it either has trouble using the low 50 - 60Hz refresh / 320*240 res or it's not automatically switching between refresh rates / resolutions or it's trying to use an interlaced display mode. I shouldn't worry about it, as long as it works ok in windows it won't do any harm.

You wana try fiddling with the monitor controls to see if you can set it up, could just be it was defaulted to a wrong setting for the lower resolution used in dos / boot screens.

Just curious......I know a couple of people here have the same Envisions I have, and both of them did it.........still have the 17" on my "router" computer, and my 19" did the same thing. Funny thing.......I was so used to ignoring it, when I got my LCD, I didn't notice that it'd stopped........

Anyway, I restarted the machine with the Envision on it, and sure enough, it doesn't change resolution for the 320x240 POST/boot screens, just stays at 1024x768. The 17" seems to be fine, but I know the 19" started going bad about two months after I started seeing the lines and such......just started going blurry, to the point that it was almost unreadable.

Don't know if that's because of it not changing resolution on boot, I didn't even associate it with the monitor itself until you discovered that.

I decided to go thru my monitor Menu, i reset it to default factory settings...and its all fine now. I remember messing with the OSD Position about 2 days before the problem just to see what it was....must have been that i guess.......
