Just thought I'd put this in here.

I reinstalled Spybot S&D after a reformat, and decided to use the TeaTimer system protection.

DO NOT do this, for a few reasons.

1. I like using Yahoo as my home page, since I have 3 email accounts. I also like using the custom My Yahoo page, so I get the news and crap that I want. TeaTimer absolutely will NOT allow the change to be made. Even when I click "allow" and "remember this setting", every time I reboot, it blocks the custom homepage as malicious.

2. If you use a custom soundcard applet (like my FireWire control doodad), TeaTimer will not allow it to load at startup, claiming it to be a malicious registry change (even though I installed the FireWire before S&D...). Changing settings within the control applet requires going to my Control Panel, and manually starting the software. SpyBot gives me no options to allow it to load, it blocks it at the boot level.

3. The same holds true with ATITool. TeaTimer will not allow it to load, as it's changing a registry entry for my vid card. Bummer if you either OC (or underclock a touch in my case).

Basically, it blocks any and all control applets that are not from a major vendor. It allows MS AntiSpyware to load, the ATI control panel applet, and that's it. If there were an actual "settings" function that would allow you to un-block certain items it wouldn't be an issue, but all "settings" does is show you what's blocked........you can't change or remove them

Annoying, to say the least.
