Answer this one for me.....

"Photoshop is to photos as ......... is to videos"

More specifically I do a lot of photoshop work, work on still images, however, I want to get into the video editing scene. What kinda app does one use for doing stuff you can do with Photoshop to images but with video. Meaning what app would I use if I wanted to, say, remove a person from a vid, etc. I'm not interested in the kind of apps that add transition effects since even MS Movie Maker can do that rather I'm interested in the more advanced stuff.
I've got Adobe Premiere 6 somewhere (which I think is rather old) and Macromedia Director but I don't know what kind of stuff I can do with those and I don't know if those are useful for anything more than just editing 'home movies'.

thx

K cool. Sounds good but I'm a little confused. There appears to be 2 Pro versions.
There's Premiere Pro 7 and then there's Premiere Pro 1.5. It appears that 1.5 is the latest, am I right, is this correct, wtf is going on here?

i use premeire 7 pro - it's frikken amazing! you can get some VERY cool plugins for it too...
i have no idea about 1.5 ..... it's kinda illogical to give a newer version of a program a lesser number, but eh, what do i know, i'm just a consumer....
lol
