Another Problem!
Ok this time i cant create a datacd/musiccd or any other format, i have a samsung combi drive, windows xp pro but when i try to copy with windows it displays a text box saying, "there is no cd in the E drive", i can still play games with my drive and it USED to be able to create backup disks and i dont have a clue what is wrong with it?
Oh btw i tried to use nero burning rom, it goes through the stages of burning but when its finished the cd remains black....
Any ideas would be welcome? _________________ AMD64 3200+

sounds like a bum drive.... but have you checked for either driver or firmware updates on it? _________________

If you can, try the drive in a different system.
Else go for a re-install of drivers, Nero, etc maybe even Windows.
Try Roxio (although Nero IMO is better, but try different software). _________________

| Most basic question; have you tried different disks? Some drives do not play well with certain brands and dye colors. |

I uninstalled the drivers through device manager and windows then found the new hardware and automatically installed it and its working fine! _________________ AMD64 3200+

Just as an aside, have you recently installed SP2? I found that it borked the drivers for a few things, primarily CD burners and my ATA PCI card. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

No i havent installed SP2 lately but i know what your talking about with the problems associated with installing SP2 after youve installed other programs, in my case directx 9c went ballistic and i couldnt play any games until i uninstalled it.
BTW, didnt want to start a new thread but quick question if you slipstream ur windows cd you have sp2 but can you transfer WINDOWS UPDATES or not? (same question about drivers and antivirus programs?) _________________ AMD64 3200+
