Hey everyone. I just saw at xoxide this BlueGears HDA Digital XMystique 7.1 Gold Sound Card. I scanned through the specs and... I got totally blown away. Seems more like a version of that Sound Storm or whatever it was for some Nvidia-based motherboards, except like... on ADHD or something lol. However, I've never heard of the company before, and googling has only pulled up a few sites (mostly in other languages) is it that new? Has anyone ever used Blue Gear's hardware or something like it before? Is this more comparable to professional-level audio encoding/development hardware or is this more like a general high-end sound card? No site has really reviewed it, and almost seems like it would blow creative right out of the water lol :-) What do you guys think about it?

It's basically the CMedia chip from the nForce mobos, with an added Dolby Digital decoder and some more parts. Considering it also claims support for Creative Labs properties (EAX and Sensaura), I'd guess they also have a license from Creative. The software I've seen screams CREATIVE too, it's almost identical to the Audigy software setup.
Specs look about the same as an Audigy 2, the only added benefit is the real-time Dolby Digital decoding. Should perform similar to the original nForce2 onboard sound, with less noise, seems to be what they were getting at. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
