If you plan on seeing the show...then plan on getting an email like this one.
I know that it's mostly lawer written....but they could phrase it better and not make such a hassle out of it!!!
| Quote: | · We request that 48 hours before your scheduled to see the show, that you
call us (415) 355-4176 and confirm that you are coming. For example, If you are
booked for July 10th, you need to contact us on July 8th. If you do not contact
us we have other fans hoping to see the show. Please contact us so we know you
are coming or that we can allow other fans to come in your place.
* All adults (18+) in your party must bring a legal form of picture
identification (drivers license, for example).
* Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
* Nobody under 7 years of age will be permitted in the studio.
* Your food, drinks, cameras, or any electronic devices such as cell phones,
laptops, pagers, and PDA's are NOT allowed in the studio. So if you have any of
those items with you, leave them in the car or back at the hotel.
* Backpacks and luggage are also not permitted, but purses are O.K.
You are confirmed for a party of 1 under the name XXXXXXXXXXXXX for 4/8/03.
Please arrive at the TechTV studio by 3:00 PM. The studio is located at 535
York Street between Mariposa and 18th Street, a couple blocks away from Potrero
in the Mission/Potrero Hill district of San Francisco. (directions below) Do
NOT go to our Townsend street offices. It's encouraged to take a cab or use
public transportation to get to the studio. If you must drive, leave a little
extra time to find street parking. Unfortunately, there are no parking lots
available in the area. Also, pay attention to parking signs. There are some
"2-hr time limit" streets and you will get a ticket.
If you arrive before 3pm, we ask that you wait outside of the building. Please
do not buzz the guard or receptionist inside as they are not permitted to allow
anyone in except for studio personnel and guests appearing on the show.
Shortly after 3pm, you will greeted outside by a guest coordinator or security
personnel and then brought into the lobby. Please know that as you enter the
building, we reserve the right to conduct the kind of screening process you now
normally find at any major airport. Once inside, you'll be given an orientation
and finally taken into the studio for the show.
The show will begin promptly at 4PM. The show will end at 5:00PM. Because of
the large number of potential guests that we turn away, we would ask that you
plan on staying for the entire show.
Understand that Leo, Patrick and the rest of The Screen Savers family are very
excited to have you as a guest but will be busy while you are there. Your
respect for this is appreciated. Unfortunately, they may not be available after
the show to speak with you. Please don't come with the expectation that they
will.
Finally, know that you'll be asked to sign a standard release form agreeing to
follow all instructions, policies, and guidelines. This form also grants us
television exhibition rights and any other use of your name, voice and likeness
while you are in the studio. In addition, we reserve the right to refuse
admission to the studio to anyone for any reason. The TechTV Studio is private
property and not normally open to the general public.
IMPORTANT. If you need to cancel or re-schedule your visit, please call The
Screen Savers Guest Hotline as soon as possible. The number is 415-355-4176.
Know that we book our audience far in advance and that we'll likely NOT be able
to re-schedule you for anytime soon.
*** If you have further questions that can't wait until you get here, you may
call our Screen Savers Guest Hotline. We will try to return your call within 48
weekday hours.
We look forward to seeing you at the show!
Thanks,
The Screen Savers Guest Coordinators |

| Do you get fries with that? Imagine if other events had the same onerous legal language. A ticket to a football game would have to be about 3 feet wide to fit all of that on it. |

Wow, man, you should also drop off a urine and stool sample at the front desk so they can check to see if you are a communist. _________________ Owner & Administrator

I might just do that if Patrick will let me drive that red convertible Barracuda that he and Leo ride in. Do you think it's got a HEMI?
On the same subject, what is this show coming to anyway? It used to be a "let's help the computer intermediates" show, a one step up from the Call for Help (help the NOOBS) show. It seems now that it's a showcase for marketing Apple / Mac stuff, and publicizing people who author books on hacking. I think I saw 1 really good show lately (last 6 months) where they see who could build a working computer the fastest . How funny, I think only 1 team got theirs to work in 6 minutes or so and Patrick's team forgot something like hooking up the IDE cable.
Maybe they should have logged in to TN for support! _________________ AMD XP 2500+ Barton
