Can you post a picture with a pointy grey hat on top, and a staff leaning on the side

Looks nice, Thermaltake has taken a bunch of different design roads this year, and I think this one is my favorite.

there is no way to see HDD activity when the doors are closed?

Great review Mojo....the best yet

LOL Very Happy
Thanks for the + feedback guys! This case is very impressive, but no you can't see the HDD light with the door closed. I missed that in the review. As usual, Hams got my back.

Mojo, are those mylar pieces curved? It sorta looks like ABOUT the same curve as the top of the case on the front bezel. I was thinking that perhpas they are just to protect the surface finish from the wear and tear of constant handling by a tweaker. Very Happy

That is one schweet looking case....nicer than the tsunami IMO.

Nice review mojo too, there sure is alot of features to comment on One thing i noticed was that the top of the case had the mesh thingy. I was thinking that maybe alot of dust could get in through the top of case? What you reckon?

You could prevent dust from coming in by putting a fan there that blows out. =]

no what i meant is...the mesh appears (from the pics anyway) large..and that a fan would not cover it ALL?

yeah, Josh, the meshed area is pretty large and with a lot of open area. The 92mm fan is placed under the center which acts as a sort of diffuser, spreading the airflow outward and upward. It's kind of hard to explain, but I don't THINK this is going to be a dust magnet. Only time will tell, and if it looks to be a problem, I'll post in this thread about it.

Thanks for the question, it's always good to know what you guys want to know so I can write better reviews.

PostPosted: Mon May 09, 2005 1:17 pm    Post subject: Front audio connection. are they on blocks?? Reply with quote

The thermaltake shark case has the front audio pannel connectors is setup on blocks instead of all those spread out little blocks. I love that. Is the kandalf case front pannel conectors setup the same way?? I am speaking of the connectors that go to your MoBo for front access... thanks

The front (top) audio ports are connected to the mobo by a gang plug; all wires run to a large plug that attaches to the pin headers. This is great, unless the header and connector do not match, which is not uncommon. This has caused many headaches and is not limited to audio as I've seen USB and front panel LEDs and speaker connections that had to be repositioned to work.

I'm not fampliar with that particular board, but one should ALWAYS double check the mobo manual against the case wireing to be sure that the ports, lights etc. work properly and to avoid shorts. This is a great case!

BTW, welcome to TweakNews!

I figured out that the "mystery" mylar sheets are to protect the finish on the front black panel from scratches from the magnetic catch. The larger one is to protect the finish on the tube when opening and closing the door. note in the manual would have been nice!

If you have the manual for your motherboard, you won't have any trouble making the connections to the case.

I don't see any reason why that couldn't be installed in the KAndalf. Show us some pix when you get it installed!

The Kandalf has toolless attaching mechanisms to secure devices in the bays. These can be removed, however and Thermaltake has provided holes for the use of conventional screw attachment. You SHOULD be able to use that device in the Kandalf.
