icon loading in exe files

can anyone tell me if it's possible to disable the loading of the icons in exe files on floppy drives?

whenever I insert a floppy in my pc that contains a large exe file that contains a custom icon, the drive seems to load the entire exe file *just* to display a freaking icon....while all I want to do is just browse the floppy disk

I wanted to add another question to my post, but appearantly there aren't any "edit" buttons in this forum.....? :confused:

anyway, my other question: is there a shortcut (like running filename.cpl in start > Run) to get to the windows firewall port exeptions window?
