Well, first off, i would immagine that you noticed they were the same price...so keeping that in mind, the dvd version of a game uses fewer discs, so theres less junk you have to work with and keep track of. Secondly, on the ones ive seen SO FAR away, idk the others might kno a lil more than me, but several DVD versions are Special Edition, and may have special little things that the normal CD version might not have. There generally isnt much difference in game play, as far as ive seen, but again, i have only ACTUALLY SEEN a few games that have both cd and dvd.I would suggest, unless there is a price difference, that the DVD version would be the best choice.

* Intro Movies with Commentary—View in-game movies with commentary from Director Brady Bell.

Game Features:

* Ground-Breaking Technology -- Medal of Honor Pacific Assault sets a new benchmark in real-world visuals, with Havok™ physics, mind-blowing lighting, textures, mirroring effects, and much more.

* Revamped A.I. -- The all-new artificial intelligence takes advantage of squad tactics to create real, emergent environments.

* All-New Multiplayer Elements -- With class based gameplay, all-new Invader gametype, integrated PunkBuster™ Technology, and eight original gameplay scenarios, multiplayer is more intense than ever before.

* Verge of Death -- When pinned down by suppression fire and on your last breath, call a medic over, and hope for healing in time.

That's pretty much true of all DVD games right now. Because of the available space, they'll often throw in movies, behind the scenes footage, etc. Best thing to do is read the back of the box.........they usually list the added content.

I have MOHPA, and UT04 on the DVD "special editions", and both come with a Shiz-load of extra goodies, like FnF said^^, and you don't have to sit there and swap discs during the install.
I would buy DVD format whenever it's available Very Happy

Yup, I'm glad they are finally starting to makes games as DVDs, at least in America. I know DVDs are kind of the norm over in the UK now.

I'm not sure if 03 was on DVD, but 04 was and Far Cry was as well. It was strange that the two major games, HL2 and Doom3 didn't even have the option. I bet this year we will slowly see the death of CDs (hopefully), even though it will still be awhile before they are totally gone.

hehe yeah DVD versions are alot better imho. less fooling about, extra features, none of that installing disk change procedure.

UT2003 was only on CD as i remember, but UT2004 is a DVD. thats the first game i remember coming with a DVD, although FarCry may have been 1st, i dont know.

Most companies are balking at putting games strictly on DVD yet. Figure most people are buying CD burners (most people=not tweakers) in their Dells and Compaqs, and ditching the DVD option to save some cash. There was a letter written by one of the game companies (whoever did Far Cry, I believe) that said their marketing demographic showed that not enough mainstream users had dedicated DVD drives yet, so releasing only to DVD isn't a viable option yet, and making two pressings in equal amounts is too costly. Give it another year, and the major players will feel more comfortable about DVD only releases.

UT2k3 was CD only, BTW.
