The ol' trusty Volvo finally got too expensive to fix, so I had to go hunt for a new car. Picked up this..
2009 Corolla S, maxed out. No CD changer, though........boo. Picked it up for $16k out the door from the dealer, was the service manager's car, so no worry about recalls. The salesman doublechecked just to make sure that had been done. 23k on the odo when I got it, haven't quite put 3k on it yet. Sweet little car for the price, and the pic really doesn't do the color justice. Certified, so I got the remaining 5.5 years warranty, and I did get the wraparound coverage for $1100, just to have everything but wear and tear items covered. Brand new set of Pirelli's thrown in to boot.
Now I gotta get used to how zippy this little thing is......... _________________ Big enough to scare you |

A nice looking little Corolla! I've driven the new Matrix/Vibe which are on the same platform and use the same engines, and liked how it felt. It's comfy, nimble, and just enough pep. I imagine the Corolla weighs a good chunk less than the Matrix, so it's quicker yet. I bet you'll enjoy the MPG off of that, as well! _________________ |¤| |

Yeah, it gets a heck of a lot better mileage. I keep forgetting ti fill the dang thing up once in awhile. I've just gotten used to the higher rear end, though. Had it for a week and I had to replace the passenger side mirror I broke backing out of the garage back there............ _________________ Big enough to scare you |

I had actually been looking one step up, they had the top end model for $23k, and I'd been poking around the Prius. Needed to be something certified. Turned out I only had that much to spend, I'm really happy so far. Yes, I paid outright, no way am I getting into a loan. Cheaper in the long run, too. Used over half my savings, though. That check really hurt to write. There's a visible stutter at the "thththththousand" part. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
