ActiveSync driving me nuts.

I can't quite understand this, and Google is no help.

I have a Toshiba E335 pocketPC (yeah, I know, I need an upgrade, but this one works fine for what I need), and even though I have ActiveSync on both the PPC and in Windows set to connect manually (no automatic sync at all), it still disconnects and reconnects every 5 minutes or so, for about an hour. Then it'll stop for awhile, then start randomly reconnecting again. So far, my solution is to pull it out of the cradle when gaming (it'll either slow the game way down, or minimize the game screen so ActiveSync can have it........really annoying in a UT deathmatch).

Does anybody know how to stop this thing? I've done everything I can think of. I've updated ActiveSync to the latest patch, unchecked all sync options, even turned off the 'net passthrough (like I'd ever websurf while it's on my desk), etc etc.
