I know some of you here have an X-Dreamer II and I'm wondering how your temp displays are holding up. Mine died on me a couple days ago. Anyway to possibly fix it, or is it just dead? _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

Meh I like(ed) the temp display I read this was a common problem, so maybe someone knows exactly what it is that fails. Hopefully it's the wiring which should be easy enough to replace. _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

My display was acting up and I emailed Aspire USA and got a prompt reply that for $5 + S&H they would send me a new display. It seemed to fix itself, so I never followed through, but I was impressed with the quick response.
Good luck! |

The temp display on my X-SuperAlien case, (Aspire) would sometimes cut off when I switched a CCFL on or off, it seems they are very sensitive to voltage drops or spikes. _________________ Yeah....... ok |

I had my X-Dreamer do the same thing from time to time. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Well the email they sent me back is weird. They don't sell directly to the consumers, so instead of me sending them 5 bucks, they said I could send them 5 bucks worth of stamps Seems kind of strange. _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

It sounds silly, but yeah, manufacturers generally cannot sell to the public, unless licensed by the State/Feds to do so. Antec is basically the same, such as when I needed the 6 pin Aux connector for my NeoPower, they just gave it to me. They can sell me the PSU, but they cannot sell me parts for one.
If you send them money, they have to report it, and if it's a check, there's no real way to hide it, and they'd get nailed. Send them something in trade, though, of equal value.......you get the point. Not exactly legal, but a legit process many companies follow. Most just find it easier to give the parts away, though. _________________ Big enough to scare you |
