As for the Radium paint, there were a large number of women who died of VERY nasty effects of radiation poisoning, most notably the "Radium girls" who tried to sue the US Radium company. (google it)
Radium paint is still around in lots of old clocks and watches, though most no longer glow, not due to the Radium running out of radioactivity though (radium has a half life of about 1600 years) but due to the other elements in the paint breaking down due to the radiation. I'ts not TOO dangerous as it is a ALPHA emmiter, so even a thick sheet of paper can stop the radiation, problem is when it get's inside the human body - it stays there untill you die (probably of cancer). While it is not as dangerouse as a Gama emmiter, in the wrong hands it can still be REALLY dangerous (especially if you are stupid or an exceptionally bright boy scout):

Anyhow, off topic.

For a red and blue theme to the computer case, how about using LEDs to highlight some specific areas of the case / mobo, an keep most of the case really dark by shining the LEDs at a steep angle to the parts in the case to make large dark shadowed areas giving a REALLY striking effect.

OR..... how about ditching the CCFL / LED ideas and using thin film electroluminesent strips to provide the light without using any obvious lighting source.

OR..... fil your case with smoke and use Laser diodes to produce a starwars theme.

LOL...actually i THOUGHT about the smoke idea, but the condensation from a fog machine, and all the settling buildup kinda turned me off of it...=P

Uranium Glass is pretty cool, and im thinkin if i can rig up some mirrors properly, i can get the illusion of the chunk of glowing glass hovering in place of the JET 4....

anyway...im still pondering it..... but not a bad idea.... i might pick up some red Stripping, or CCFL's, some blue leds.....and go to town..... im thinkin if i can put the leds on a pivoting servo of some kind to mimick some party scanners.....hmmmmmm
