hey, i think when i buy my processor (some AMD K8 depending on money i have) im gonna buy it OEM, just cause its cheaper and i dont like stock fans and HS's so, does anyone have anything to say about first of all taking this route? like is it more dangerous to buy OEM<|| or is it worth it to save the $$.. and what about this fan? i think it sound pretty sick.. all copper with a nice big fan in the middle and the blue leds are a turn on..lol.. have a look tell me what u all think:

I would try to get the CPU in a retail box, they have a longer warranty, and it's good to have a backup heatsink/fan around anyway, even if it's a stock job.

as for the Zalman...never used one on a CPU, but my 6600GT has an all copper VF700-Cu, and it does a wonderfull job

yeh i think im gonna get that cooler u mentioned the other 7000 cooler but the specs are exactly the same.. here see for urself..:
led one:
http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=147&code=
reg one:
http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=141&code=

they even weigh the same.. i know its like 400g more then the recomended weight for a cooler.. but honostly.. whats the worst that could hapen.. ive snapped a few mobos in half in my life time and it isnt really that easy.. it takes a lot of force.. i really doubt that this HSF will break the mobo... do u?

you should be ok if you don't transport a lot.
if you do, just make suru you lay the pc on it's side.

oh, yeah...I like the LED one, it looks frickin SWEET lit up

I have the older CNPS7000A-Cu and it's cools very well. I would recomend it. One thing about the weight tho, as Ham said, either lay the PC on its side when transporting or take the cooler off entirely.

I'm a bit annoyed that the CNPS7000B-Cu LED is out since it's almost exactly the same (smaller surface area and a few grams lighter, same cooling tho) but it has the blue LED which would be perfect for my case!!!!
I really wanna get it, but what would I do with exactly the same cooler but without the LED fan? Grrrr....

transporting would be fine as long as you are using a mounting bracket with a backing plate. The A64s do use a backing plate. And some P4 motherboards come with them as well. For the P4s with out it you can order the brackets with backing plates.
The 7000 works rather well and is quiet. But if you are looking for great cooling and still want the bluw LED get a Thermalright XP-90 and install a Blue LED 92mm fan!

heh, weaz when you first mention the xp-90 i was like "wtf!! god i hate those things they're hideous blah blah blah.." but i just read some reviews and i think ive changed my mind... i stand by my claim that it is an eyesore to me..just cause it looks like one of those oldschool leggo engines for k'nex or something, but anyway.. i think that, that cooler might just be the one for me..
the only problem is i plan on getting the abit AN8 Fatal1ty and i sorta think that their might be size issues going on between the xp90 and the AN8... do u really think there'd be enuff room?? i hope...does heatpipe actually work as good as they say it does tho>??

i would just go all out and get a xp120... but eh... thats just me...

and the heat pipes on the xp90 as well as 120 ... do their jobs excellently.. that and the surface area thermalright has been able to create .... that is y they cool so well... while weighing far far less that the older sp94 etc...

check the Thermalright web site to check to see if there are any issues with that motherboard.
