what he said ^^^

The RAM will help you ever so slightly. You may reach 10,500 if you are lucky I found that when i upgraded my RAM, scores didnt really change, you just notice differences in games at loading points etc....good differences too

Not sure, I'll check when I fit the new ram. It OCs well though, I have it at 212.5 and its dead stable, had it up to 225 on another machine and it was stable there too. The timings are just loose.

nah, that score seems pretty good...remember this is 2005 and only a 9600 pro. Its a good score if anything for taht setup....i got 450 on my old 5600 Ultra. Though i have my doubts over ATi's drivers and 3D Mark 05 scores

Actually, 3DMark05 uses Pixel Shader 3, which only nVidia supports right now, and it's less dependent on the drivers than it used to be. Futuremark has done a pretty good job of levelling the playing field, I think.

I could actually get slightly better scores. Those tests were run with everything on my system running as usual, with Object Desktop, the gamma/color software for my monitor, IE running in the background, and an FTP download going, so some CPU cycles were being used. I run the tests in a "normal" config, though, the same way I'd be playing games...........turning everything off, and running just the bare basics during the test isn't really "real world", ya know?

Yeah i know what you mean. Though most people run the stock tests when giving scores, everyone can relate to them. + you can only change that when you pay.

You can change the graphics settings on the "lite" versions, you just can't run all the tests....and I actually own all three 3DMark benchmarks, so I run all of the tests.
