| i was looking into buying a nvidia 6800 series but im not sure if there is one that supports a min of 1.65volt AGP slot. All I've seen are 2.0v....or is that the max they can support?...I'll keep checking.my MB is an Abit IC7-G, In the BIOs it goes up to 1.65v. |

I think you are mistaken the voltage with something else. Graphic cards are either 3.3v, 1.5v or 0.8v. I checked your mobo and it seems like it supports AGP8, which is1.5v and 0.8v. Hence, any modern cards will work on your mobo. 6800 will definitely work on the board.
Are you OC your system? If your AGP is running at higher voltage than 1.5, maybe you have the system OC without agp/pci lock. |

Noxide you will be fine. I am using that same board and it does support 8X AGP (1.5v) and any of the 6800s will be 1.5v. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Damn...what would I do with out you guys!!!!...I looking at the BFG nvidia 6800 Ultra that comes O/C already.. But I think I would have to change my PSU. If so I'll just get an over rated one like +600watt or something. (my wife is going to bitch when i buy all yhis stuff! ) So the card has a socket to connect a PSU pug into it? I've seen pics of that model but I never notice a plug on it. |

If you are going for a 6800 Ultra, you will actually need TWO 4-pin power plugs from the power supply, preferably from different strings.
I would focus more on quality, rather than quantity of power, a good name brand 480Watt will do you much better than a generic 600watt _________________ Yeah....... ok |

| I totally agree with Ham, I think antec's 500w true power should be fine with the card. You should also ask yourself, do you really need such a powerful card, if not, you maybe able to save few bucks on the card and a new cpu. (you don't wanna make your wife mad:). |

oh just gaming....and if there are other things that come up, I'll do it too! Besides... one of the DVI ports is going to my 44inch LCD Zenith HDTV.

Absolutley no point in getting a 6800 Ultra in my opinion.
Differences between GT and Ultra are Core and memory speed.
GT Stock is 350/1.0
U Stock is 400/1.1
I got a GT myself, and with no effort at all, mine is running faster than an Ultra with a load Temp of ~58C. Doin the overclock and benching for checking of artifacts took me no more than 20 minutes, and in doing so, i turned my £270 card into a £400 card....wow that was hard and i dont need a 1GW PSU
If you really want EXTREME TO THE IZZO SPEED, then get yourself a GT and get some watercooling for it. That would prolly still work out to be about the same price as an Ultra (maybe a bit less) and you would get IZZAY speeds on it
PS I have a 400W el cheapo PSU
PPS Sorry for words inspired by gizoogle....it just makes me laugh everytime i look at TN on it _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

As Josh so eloquently (sp?) put it the GT would be a better value buy. Go for the BFG 6800GT OC and maybe some custom cooling and you won't regret it _________________ Phenom II x4 955 @ Stock
