|
|
Hi,
I have recently come across some amps on ebay which are the price I am looking for. However I am unsure whether the 2 channel Lanzar Viberant 2000w is good enough to power the 2 Alpine R's sufficiently, having these subs capabilities in mind. Any ideas on this high power amp?
Many Thanks |

| I have heard the only problem with sony amps are that they overheat, but i already have 1 for my other sub (JBL GT4-12) and I am super suprised at its quality! So wots the big fuss with sony amps and are Lanzar better- why? |

sony's are overrated.
Just make sure you get one that will match the ohm rating you will need. _________________ Owner & Administrator

i agree I have had nothing but crappy sound come out of ANY sony amp, Ill go for the brand that I have never heard of before. Those always seem to work best. _________________ Remember When Sex was safer than racing???

Both Sony and Lanzar are low end for audio equipment. They use ugly asthetics to somehow compensate for lackluster performance. Few reputable shops carry Lanzar, rather they are most often found in pawn shops and other places of that nature. Sony, on the other hand, has a reputable name is some aspects, but lacks the quality in many cases (as in their amps.) My advice? Let us know your desired RMS power rating, Impedence of speakers to be powered, and desired price and I/we will make a good recommendation.

Lanzar and sony don't make the best amps. Subs are NOTHING without a good amp. If you shelled out the cash for some Good type-R's, why not put out a little more for some decent amps or a decent monoblock amp?
If you give us the specs on the woofers (RMS wattage, impedance, and voice coil setup) we can recommend some good stuff. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

Sony= haven't seen any decent amps from them lately. Avoid them.
Lanzar= well, at least you have a few options. Look for either an Opti series or a Vibe1200D. The Opti's are decent quality, and the Vibe is also fair quality and is good bang for the buck (especially eBay prices). II wouldn't recommend their other series, like the Heritage, etc. |

I realise and understand what you are saying here, and I take action if I werent a 17 year old full time college student with nothing but £40 a week to save and purchase components, remembering I am not after the best system as this is my first time of car modding etc. nor competition level sounds, but I do believe these sony amps I have are adequate to make the Alpines pound hard which is more than I can say for these people going around with shitty £20 no make amps.
Many Thanks and keep postin! |

| I have already purchased two Alpine SWR-1241 subwoofers and one JBL GT4-12 subwoofer. See my other forum on 'powering three amps' for full details on my system. |
