get a monitor that supports a higher resolution. I know alot of the newer cards set their max, depending on the max resolution the monitor can support.

If the maximum resolution of your monitor is 1024x768, that is how high you can go.

That's the max resolution on that monitor. LCD's are pretty set in the resolution, you can't go any higher. You only have 1024x768 to work with.

Look at it this way, an LCD screen is made up of active pixels. To go to a higher resolution, you'd have to tell each pixel to split in half, which they can't do.

You want a higher resolution...............get a new monitor.

Ebay it or return it? CRT is probably the way to go for the good resolutions. You might want to check out Yosh's review of that LCD. What resolution does that support?

The Viewsonic he has? 1024x768 is the highest resolution.

New CRT's, if you co that route, aren't that expensive, you can get a decent 19" for under $200 these days, $220 or so for a Viewsonic flat-tube.
