editing posts

HI, I have notice that we can't edit posts after we post it. I wonder can we have the option of doing so as I mistakening forgot to put the / in the command and now the html command is not working.

yeah i noticed that too ..

but as soon as you post i think you have the option to delete it..

I did post something wrong .. and found out that you can't edit teh post :/

true you can delete it, but editing is much faster, less typing:).

We had a problem with a former member going back and editing their posts to be incorrect and it hurt the forum. So now you are not allowed to edit. If you just posted and it did not work, just simply copy your post then delete it. Paste it and fix, then post it again. Its a pain, but it prevents what happened before from repeating.

but terrible pain if i sit more then 5 hours on this PC .. playing games and all

now whats that ..

my finger just doesn't hurt.. a lil pain .. coz i ve been on PC alot for a while..
like 10 - 13 hours in last few days.. I don't think thats a serious problem in anyway. atleast i don't want it :/

am gonna get some few keyboards with some resting pads and all..
atleast i ll have a longer typing time then

mabye nathan can put a time limit on the ability to edit a post say 1 minutes or so.

Thats not a bad idea actually. I wonder if there is a way to do that. Say maybe 3 minutes or so. That would give you enough time to read it over even you are in the middle of being distracte while you are at work. And I am sure no damage could be done within three mintues of posting as far as misinformation is concerned.

nah, I think that's hard to implement, I guess use preview is the way to go then.

as for me i would say like limiting the edits. like one or two.. (i don't know what happened before but .. limiting is a good idea..).. I would vote to limit it

well honestly, being able to delete your post as long as nobody else has replied is equally as good limited time editing. IMO the forum status quo is as it should be and if newer users are uninclined to agree, they need to adapt.
