Could anyone suggest a sweet gaming Laptop under $2,000?
Or Suggest a HP or Compaq? I get a small discount with them but not sure which of those two I'd get... I saw the Falcon's & the Alienwares .. Alien is way too pricie but they only offer 256 ram... I want at least a gig of ram... Any help? _________________ Lord Tyr

Thanks I'll remember that... However I did notice that some laptops will mention the are DDR2 but then I have seen those that are a mere 256 with no other info...? Go figure.. _________________ Lord Tyr

Yeah for good gaming, you are not going to really spend less than 2 grand on a laptop. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

Gaming Laptop....
Isn't that an oxymoron? Like jumbo shrimp?
It's hard to build a good gaming desktop for $2K, when you consider a good monitor, keyboard, speakers etc. A laptop just can't compare regardless of price. _________________ .

as they have said before it is going to be very very hard to find a "gaming" laptop for under $2k. When I got my Alienware Area 51M, I got something that was middle of the road as far as the cpu was concerned but got the best video card at the time and when it got to the bottom line it was about $2400.
And yes you can configure your own Alienware. They make a damn good product too. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Good find. I still stick by my original statement though. That is a good laptop and it is less than 2 grand. But it won't run D3 or Half-life2 as well as a desktop. (gaming on deskop = good gaming in my opinion) But as stated before, excellent find and a worthy investment. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

LOL Oh believe me all my hardcore gaming will be done at home, but I just want a laptop I can take to work & play WoW or Vampire Bloodlines whenever it's a slow day. Because if you read my signature you can tell I do almost everything on this little monster... LOL But I like the price & its a 256 ATI so that shouldn't be too bad?? I'm use to Nvidia chipset...
Hey can anyone tell me a little more about DDR2??? Like the difference between a Gig of DDR versus a GIg DDR2? _________________ Lord Tyr

a gig of ram is a gig of ram is a gig of ram, meaning the all equal the same amount. Its just that DDR2 is the newest thing out and is used in combination with the new P4's _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!
