So Hoedizzy has been patiently waiting to see some pics of my new case. So I bring you the first sneak peak at the case and a taste of what has been done.
Here is the case that I started with.
Here are a few things that have been done. The scoops on the bottom front are gone. The domes near the case badge are gone. The front USB ports are no longer there, and the front has been smoothed out. That is just a tiny bit of what I have done, I also made some major chassis modifications, that completely changed the look and airflow of the case....
UNFORTUNATELY..... In the proccess of installing things on the system the first time, then changing my mind on the partitions that I created, I lost the pictures that were taken for me......... SO.... Hoedizzy is just gonna have to wait a little longer, hopefully the guy who took the pictures still has them. If not, that is fine as well, as I still have some modding to do. Sorry Hoedizzy. |

| Its really not done guys. Liquid Cooling the The Ultimate End Goal, with a nice little window mod... iam thinking some Interesting design instead of just a square or cirlce..... havent decided on the exact design yet. But again, that is one of those goals to shoot for, when the time comes. Or when I have the time. Pictures will be here soon I hope. |

Ok. There are only a few pictures this time round. I need to get some in the dark too after I finish some of my lighting mods, which might be a week or two considering all the things That I have to do at this point in time.
Meet............... "Maverick" My New Baby, My Pride and Joy.
THUMBNAILS!! CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGES!!
So first off lets do a nice shot of the case after the first round of Mods.
Second a head on Front View.
Notice the now non-exsistent Scoops on the bottom and the bulbous bulges around the case badge have magically disappeared. Bondo!! BONDO!! BONDO!! not a lot, but that is how everythign looks soo smooth and beautiful, Not to mention some JB Weld for a little backer in some of the places where the plastic was a little thin. All the LEDs have been replaced with Super Bright Blue LEDs. They were Green and Orange. You may also notice the nice little Mess Grill in the front, for some looks. I like the Gloss black here offset from the Ultra Flat black that I painted on the front panel.
The Front open, and we can see the paint extends to the inside. The Front covers of hte Drives have not yet been painted flat black in these Pictures, As I had just finished the job of getting it all together for the LAN that evening..... You can see some of the Unfinished area on the inside of the front door, the JB weld Backer, which will all be covered very soon. A new Latch system will also be installed, Iam thinking along the lines of a Magnet system.
Next, lets move to the Side. Not alot done here... A hole for ventilation for the P4 3.4Ghz HT Proccessor, an 80 mm Fan blowing in and the first production run of a 1 liter coke bottle Fan Duct, The second production run was a little longer to have more reach to the proccesor heat sink and didnt have the tape, where I cut too much off. Also the entire Inside of the Case have been coated with Sound Dampening, It helps!! it really does, And iam keeping an eye out for a good rubber washer for case Feet.
Ok, so if you go HERE and take a look at the pictures of this case you will notice the 120mm fan in the front, that is offset from center to cool the HDD... well this Iam not worried soo much about, I only have 1 HDD at the present time and It gets enough air from my Mod anyway. Basically I centered the Fan so It would look best with my front bezel Mod. A little cutting was needed and some Household Duct Sheet Metal did the trick of centering my Fan... some car door seal material, left over from resealing my car, worked to hold the next item in place. And thats a Thermaltake 120mm Thunderblade in there complete with Blue LEDs and all. That was taken when the fan was spinning, you can tell the lights are on, The Sony W1 camera got that fan to look like it was stopped!!
And Finally for the end of the first round of Pictures, You have to have somethign to direct that Air Coming in the front of this Hog, and what is better than a custom Square to Round, Designed by me In AutoCAD... yes that is right boys and girls, I purchased a $4000 software package so I could design a Duct for the Front of my case, Talk about Expensive Modding!! NO really, I have it for school... I becoming an Engineer of some kind........ havent decided, somethin with Architecture.... anyway... using the same sheet metal from the fan mount, I made myself 2 pieces, sanded the "Galvinized" look off of them and broke them up where I needed to.. Broke means Bend...... and made some hand adjustments and you get what you see there. you can see that Rubber seal holds the duct just where I need it, It basically holds itself between the front bezel and the Steel, I havent had any problems iwth it moving around at all
SO!!! Thats it for now, There are plenty of more plans in the works, Sorry I didnt get any good Dark shots, you could really tell the blue glow out of the front, and Iam actually adding some more light that front fan section with a Few LEDs. I think the 12"Cold Cathodes should help that too
Let me know what you guys think. |

Absolutely superb job so far. Very clean looking. Hows the functionality of the new ducting for the fans? Have you noticed a drop in temps? _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

Thats a DVD Burner.
and yes Caffine Free. If I drink Caffine I could die, well almost... I would probably end up killing myself from the pain that it causes. Migraines. it sucks... I have to actually will myself to staying awake instead of drugging myself up... but I bet I could do it better than anyone on Caffine anyday!
Anyway A little Update as well, I have an idea for a window mod, but iam still in search of a shape or design other than a squared thing for the window. |
