So i called pioneer and they told me i need a 40pin/80wire dual ata ultra cable to connect my dvd burner, my cd rw to my motherboard. i was wondering how can i tell on the package if the cable is correct without counting the wires in the cable.
here is the cable i was considering would this be all i need.

the ATA133 specification requires the 80 wire, ( one extra ground wire for each data wire for shielding ), so if it says ATA133, it SHOULD be an 80 wire cable

easiest way is to just look at the cable. If the wires are really thin (you can tell the difference), it's 80 wire. Most are, these days, you'd be hard pressed to find any mobo/drive that comes with 40 wire anymore. It'll usually say on the cable somewhere, too, printed on the sleeve.
