This is my case but why is it so damm expensive
http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=6275&GroupID=131
Im a bit worried about temps when im playing farcry, i have the thermalright sp90 with a yalta 92mm fan and my temps are hitting high 40's and 30 idle, i no it wont do ne damage but i was a bit disapointed.....
it has 2 8cm intakes but only 1 8cm outtake and no expansion slots for more fans what should i do??
i was thinking about pci extrators but they dont seem to be very powerful what do you guys think? _________________ AMD64 3200+

I would expect better cpu temps than hi 40s with that cooler, it's a good one.
Esp since Asus boards report temps a little low, if I'm not mistaken.
Are you sure that the rear fan is set to exhaust? If all the fans are blowing in, you'll have problems. |

| ^^^^That's true they do report them a little low. I've noticed that mine is about 5-10 C too low actually. There's thread about this somewhere. Apparently the winbond thermal sensors in some boards and little off, even after a bios update. |

The temps while idle are cpu - 32c case - 28c
but while playing farcry cpu - 46c case - 35c
I would guess the rear fan was set to exhaust as it was already attached whenever i bought the case.
But there is 2 intakes and 1 exhausts? _________________ AMD64 3200+

This mite sound like a dumb question but how do you do that?
what way should the blades be facing? _________________ AMD64 3200+

Just put your hand behind the case, with the machine running, where the fan is and feel if air is being blown out or sucked in. |

| theres normally an arrow on it... and if u cant figure out by feeling, look at the blades and turn the computer off to see which way they spin... knowing which way they spin and how they look u should be able to determine if they... blow or if they suck :) :) :) |

Yeah ok after rwading it back it seemed like a dumb question, the only reason i ask this is because i was to oc theis baby but with temps already on the high side i didnt really want to.
Ive decided to get 1/2 pci extrators, can you suggest ne other ideas? _________________ AMD64 3200+

Just a suqqestion... when you put on the heat sink did you apply a good thermal paste (like arctic silver)? Aside from that, is your PC set up next to an oven or perhaps tucked under a desk or someplace with poor circulation? I find that moving your case up on a desk will help drop case temps by 1 or 2 degrees centigrade, but in your case you should be aiming to drop 10 degrees... still, every little bit helps. _________________ "It's not whether or not you get knocked down,

My pc is sitting on top of my desk :)
Maybe i used too much thermal paste, but yeah i did use some artic silver 5.
The side of the case actually feels warm to touch directly over the cpu. _________________ AMD64 3200+

| Did it squish out from the sides when you applied it? It really only takes a small, but even amount to transfer the heat well. |

It actually FEELS hot? Wow... is your CPU fan on? lol Seriously, man... I would take it apart, put ona smaller amount of thermal paste, maybe invest in a second CPU fan just to test... there's something screwy about your setup if your temps are that out-of-whack.
Also, just a minor thing and I'm sure you've already done it... get a roll of electrical tape or some zip ties and police all of the loose wires and cables together to help increase airflow. If you're not using rounded cables, they might be worth a shot. Try to arrange everything inside so that the airflows freely through your system - but even this would only compensate for another 2 or 3 degrees centigrade.
Maybe you could put your tower inside of a minifridge? or cut a blowhole in the side of a minifridge and your case and getting some PVC piping and a few fans, suck that nice cool air into the case... remember to throw in an obligatory box of arm and hammer to keep everything fresh. _________________ "It's not whether or not you get knocked down,

The cpu fan is definayely working it is a YS-TECH 3 pin
- Speed - 2400RPM
- Output - 50.0CFM
- Decibels - 31.9dBA
- Dimensions - 92x92x25
maybe a more powerful fan is required? and it did not squish it just ruffled up a bit when trying 2 attch hs but surely this souldnt account for such high temps? _________________ AMD64 3200+

Those temps are well with in the normal range for your set-up. If you want to try and get them lower the first thing I would do is install a fan in the top fo the case rather than having the USB and other stuff. This should help drop that case temp and there by helping lower the cpu temps under load. You can also upgrade the other fans in the case but this will also most likely add more fan noise as well. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

a blowhole out the top would be smart to
also i have found that some times your
power supply sucks air into your case and by
flipping it around can lower your case temps 3-5 degrees C _________________ Celeron D320 2.4ghz

the psu should always exhaust air and never pull air into the case. If it does then the fan was installed backwards. Either that or you have too many exhaust fans in your case and they are overcoming the exhaust fan on your psu. But which ever one it is, is bad.
and the blowhole idea was already taken care of by CoolerMaster as the top area where the USB and other stuff is at can be replaced by a fan, hence blowhole! _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! So I Tweaked some more!

Those temps appear fine, really. That's about the standard range for a stock cooling setup.
A couple of suggestions.......if you're not too nervous about cutting holes, add a blowhole to the top of the case, as was suggested. Make sure your cable wiring is neat. Use rounded IDE cables, those help alot with airflow. Tuck any excess PSU cabling out of the way (on top of the upper optical drive is a handy place), or tie them off neatly near the PSU. You can also try reversing the fan directions, depending on the location. Suck cool air in from the back, and exhaust out the front. Particularly good if the case is in a tighter location.....it's easier to suck cool air in around a corner, while blowing hot air out directly into a wall can push the hot air back into the case through the rear vents.
Get a better CPU cooler, with a larger fan, one of the Zalman thingies with a 120mm fan will give you a good drop in temps. Overall, though, you look fine. _________________ Big enough to scare you |

He has the CoolerMaster Wave case. He doesnt have to cut a hole in the top of the case!!! Check it out at their website and it gives all the info he would need to install a blowhole.
And you never want to have air entering the back and exhausting out the front. A case is designed to flow from front to back and from bottom to top for a reason. Remember hot air rises. And the front case fans are in the lower portion of the case and the exhaust fan is usually higher up in the case to help pull the hot air from the cpu. _________________ I tweaked and it tweaked back! Yeah i have now installed the blowhole and have ordered a 8cm blue led fan, ive alos ordered a replacement fan for the exhaust, again a blue led one, some rounded ide cables and a pci extractor fan. If this doesnt take care of it i dont know what will.
If you check out some reviews of this case its scores very high on looks and easy construction but quite poorly on airflow, i think the fans are sleeve bearings too.
Im also lookingt for a replace side door with a window and an intake fan but they are proving quite hard to find, unless i order from the USA _________________ AMD64 3200+

Lol ive been in hospital guys sorry, ive bought a new sidepanel with a window and ive bought a silent blue led 12cm fan as an side intake and a 8cm blue led fan as a blowhole fan at the top.
Im just tryinmg to source a drill bit that cuts circular holes, (they r usually yellow i think) to put in the side fan.
Oh and i put in a uv reactive pci extractor which took my idle temps down 2 degress, and ive just got 2 put in my uv cold cathode now but im gonna wait until i get the side panel done. _________________ AMD64 3200+
