Hey guys... I got a wild hair recently and I am sick of my plain black Chieftec case. Now, I have one of those massive 300lbs SP-94 heatsinks, and the added weight on my MoBo has always concerned me a tiny bit. Aside from that, I have a Border Collie so I pull a full dogs worth of hair out of my PC every month if I leave it on the floor. So, my idea is to find a good desktop... would any of you happen to have links or info on a solid desktop board? most of them i see are either MicroATX or they only have like 1 or 2 external 5.25" bays. I actually considered buying a rackmount, but I'd rather not sink $350 on a GD case...
Anyways, if any of you guys have links or other suggestions, please feel free to throw them out! _________________ "It's not whether or not you get knocked down,

| Im not sure on a good desktop, but a good way to keep hair and junk from getting into your case is you can install fan filters over your intake fans. I have a sheltie and yeah it can get messy |

Just wanted to keep everyone posted... I can't find a really good sized desktop, so instead I am going to get a rackmount and work with that. I need to have 3 5.25 bays (2 CD/DVD drives and one controller), and one that has a buttload of internal storage (for my hard drive fetish). Now I just need to find a way to mod it to look bad-assed...
I found one that even comes with two internal 90mm fan bays aimed right over the top of the motherboard... who here wants to dare to throw 2 Vantec Tornados in there along with the one Tornado I already have as my CPU fan? Obviously with that much voltage being drawn by fans, I'd need to either get a 900W PSU or run jumper cables from my car to my case... Ok, so maybe 3 Tornados would be a bit overkill. _________________ "It's not whether or not you get knocked down,

shouldnt need more than 400 watts, I ran a few of those on a stock 400w psu and it ran fine. Now im running 8 fans, (thats right) on a 500w and still have plenty of juice _________________ Remember When Sex was safer than racing???

as for the dusty hair stuff, Get a couple filters, even on your rack case it will benefit. I recommend the hefty screen mesh ones though as alot of the FINE screen ones can actually kill any air flow. _________________ Remember When Sex was safer than racing???
