Ok, today I have a chance to order a Geforce 4 Ti 4200, or an MSI geforce FX 5200. I really want to play Doom 3 with good graphics, would that be suffient, or should I go higher?

Thanks

Doom 3 is supposedly going to really work the hell out any videocard.

When you mean "good graphics", what does that entail?

If you want no lag at all, I would save your money and buy something faster.

Thanks for the help guys! I think I just might go with the Ti 4200 for now, and when the prices drop on the 9800 pro, then I think I might go for that. The geforce 4 Ti 4200 can play all of the latest games with no lag right? I knew the Radeon 9500 Pro could, but that seems to be out, due to what happened with it. My friend was over, hes 17, and he is extremely good with computers. Well I was doing something else, he was installing the video card, and he works really fast. When he took out the video card, I heard him say: wow, that was close. So maybe he damaged it a little then. Dissapointing, but on the other hand good, because I get to do some more work with computer. Its just paving the way for my later life

Thanks

Rivatuner,

Do some research on overclocking, you can ruin your card easily.

God, sorry to keep hammering you guys with questions, its just when I searched the web, I got mixed answers on this one: The card that I am going to get, the MSI G4Ti4200-VTD8X , I hear from the MSI website, that it has one of the quitest fans available, but then some say its very loud. What do you think I should do?

Atta boy! Videocard fans are not that noisy at all and people complaining about the fan's noise level are just being picky.

Enjoy!
