Well my friend has a 3000+ and it's always been detected at around 1800+ speeds or something. His hdd went bad recently, and I gave him a 10gig to use till he could get something better. He just left the processor running on 1800+ speeds until recently. While on 1800+ speeds, he could play CS:S and it would never crash. But when he put the proc up to 3000+ speeds CS:S would crash constantly, sometimes in under 2 minutes of playing. This made me think that his ram is possibly bad, but that's the only thing I can think of. Anyone have any other ideas? I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow probably. Thanks. _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

Make sure that if you used AS3 or 5 that it touches only the core and the heatsink. IF that gets on the bridges, it'll cause complete chaos.
Check the voltages out. Make sure its running what the stock should be.
With the HDD going out and this problem, methinks it may also be the PSU. Check all the voltages and rails for stability. Try one stick of ram at a time too.
Loosen the ram timings. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

When I put AS5 on I'm pretty sure I did it as clean as I could, so I don't think that's the problem. I'll check out the PSU when I look at it. And I'm gonna change the divider for the ram and see if that stabilizes it. Thanks JW _________________ Love Is Not Enough... |

yeh i used to have problems playing games on my PC. I could only get like 2 mins of gaming in, and it would crash, get errors or reboot. turned out that it needed a new CPU cooler and some good thermal paste. It was running at 55-60 degrees and now it runs at 30 with my thermaltake cooler. Strange, i didnt think that 20 degree drop in temperature could fix everything.
I probly havnt helped at all but just thought i'd let u know
