i want to build a computer to install in my car. I am planning on using the VIA EPIA M10000 motherboard, and trying to install the computer directly into the console area of the dashboard. i am going to hook it up to a CVA 1004 Alpine head unit and have that be the monitor, i want this to be able to run dvds, and also use the amp i currently have in my car to play mp3's. i was wondering if:

a) would i be able to put it into the dash? im not sure how hot it gets and if it would be able to maintain a sufficient temp. during the summer if it is in such an enclosed area.

b) would the soundcard on the board be able to be hooked up to the the cars speakers, and also would the videocard be able to play dvds?

thanks for the help.

Here is you answers:

a) I can't see their being any problems hooking up the board under your dash as long as you have a couple fans bringing in cooler air and getting rid of the warmer air.

b) The soundcard with the right adapters will be able to play on your car system, and the videocard onboard is sufficient to play DVD's.

Maybe if your the techie type, then you could some how redirect your air conditioning so that it would cool off your computer.
