For what it's worth, I got SWG 6 months ago, some guys at work convinced me to. Recently got JTL, and it's a lot of fun. Graphics are decent, game speed is very good, servers have few problems, and it's just plain fun. Besides, you can be a wookiee......what could be better?

are the servers free? i can't remember. i will NOT pay online fees to play a game, I still have an unused copy of Asherons Call 2 because I didn't read the box carefully

Nah, it's $15 a month to play, but well worth it. You get 15 days free (I believe, might be 30), to try it out, and see if it's worth your time. I figure, I spend $30-$50 a month for a non-multilplayer game every month, and usually wind up bored with it within the first two weeks. Doom 3 I finished in two days, gave it away, same with Unreal 2, Halflife 2 is holding out, but I can guarantee after a month, I'll forget I have it.

I don't mind paying for it, since the servers are so good. If they were constantly lagging, crashing, and not well kept up, I'd dump it, but SOE does a very good job there.

Pay servers are BullkraP....this is a multi-BILLION dollar industry, with games quickly nearing the $60.00 mark, there is no reason they can't have free servers

Well.........after playing today, I know why I don't mind paying for the server. Had some jerkoff calling everybody names, picking fights, insulting me because I wouldn't health buff him for free (I'm a Master Doc in the game), basically being an idiot. 5 minutes after he started, he got banned from the game, and his account revoked. The devs play too.

I normally feel the same way about paying for servers, but SOE does such a good job maintaining these, and the perks are nice. I don't mind........that, and since SWG is only $30 regular price, and I got the Jump to Lightspeed expansion for $25 a week after it was released, they at least keep the price low to offset a couple of months of playing.

Oh, and I DID get lucky.......you can buy game cards (I don't want to use a credit card to play), for $30 for 60 days. I bought one box, was supposed to only have one card in it.........when I opened it, it had 3 cards. 180 days for the price of 60, can't complain about that. Plus the 30 day trial period, that's 210 days of server time for $30.

Go me. Go me. *cue fat guy wiggle here*
