Maybe it's time to require a valid e-mail address for registration ( no throw-away accounts hotmail, g-mail etc) Most of the other sites are now doing this. As much as I don't like having to use a personal e-mail addy to register with a site, I can see the benifit of this.
Maybe even just adding a 24 hour delay in allowing posts after registration would be enough. I can't see many spammers waiting 24hrs to spam, they would just move on to the next site and post there instead.
