Well, I have to say HL2 is amazing!
The graphics, the AI, the sound, everything!!!
And the combine are bastards! anyways, one thing that really pissed me off and I think really marred the release of HL2 is their stupid Steam bull***. _________________

HL2 can be a riot for some. picking up debris and throwing it at the guards in the beggining reveal fun consequences. also, if you can stand between two, they make you reel like a pinball
I'm playing on hard right now and its seeming a little easy. I didn't die til i got to the part with the helicopter. Anyone else feel this way? I'm at the part with the watercraft now _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

Its free with the voucher. I can't complain too much. As for the EULA. . . its been way too long since steam was set up. i don't know what it said anymore. Steams servers also seem to be running a bit faster . . . finally! _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

This is so nice, I had to set it as my background:
This game is cool.
You prolly still have to go through the same procedures but they are integrated into the whole "pre-loading the game" process. With the CD you don't have to download 4GB or so of data. _________________

I love it, no doubt its the best game out there.
I run it on High graphics and my GPU is detected as DX 8, but i cant see any difference between mine and Z's...i still have all the water reflections, wall reflections etc etc, and the bullet marks stay on the wall forever...OMFG this is intense! _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

Okay...so I can get it from steam with less fuss...I assume I can burn it to cd/dvd for safe keeping. And, will it let me load another machine?
I mean what would happen if my machine had to be reloaded.
How long does it take to download? [I've extreme high speed on my end] _________________ .

I got it on two computers right now. All seems fine. I just transferred all of steam. You could most definately burn it to disk (prolly DVD) for safekeeping. When you d/l it, it should go at about 50KB/s depending on steams servers. Hopefully faster. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

I was reading that, on the steam site yesterday, but a couple of do-do's didn't get all the files or didn't put them in same directory or something. It's nice to know you can do it, from someone I trust.
Even at that speed it sounds like a weekend project. THX JW
Now my curiosity is the same one Z had...what if I want to reload it again on my P9 20 gig compy 20 years from now...How will steam authenticate it? _________________ .

Just got my copy this evening, and I have to say.....THAT WAS THE MOST PAINFULL INSTALL I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED
I mean..COME ON...it took nearly as long to "Unlock" the game files, as it did to install the game STEAM SUXX
But...it was WELL WORTH the wait, this game is AmazinG, the water reflections, and refractions are Sweet, and Love how they kept a lot of the sounds from the original
after i kill everything in sight..I find myself just looking at all the scenery, and picking up / pushing around all the d00dads, Great Physics Engine _________________ Yeah....... ok |
