When Norton (corp edition) finds a worm or a virus it has never ever been able to clean it, it always fails and quarantines the files. The only way to fix them is just delete them. But what if the file is important? How would I clean it?

if the file is important, then just use your backup!

Symantec web-site usually has very detailed info on a particular virus/worm, including cleaning instructions

I have used the free antivirus AVG and it has done very very well. Highly recommended. I switched from norton b/c it seems to work alot better.

I don't have worms right now, but I used to and I could never cure them.

[now there's a sentence I thought I'd never say]

Anyways, with my experience with NAV it has never cured a file for me, ever. So I was just wondering what to do the next time it shoves an infected file into the quarantine.
I always update the anti-virus and yet it can never cure the damn files so eventually I have to delete them from the quarantine.

Thx for your help.

I used to have worms. They itched like mad. But they went away on their own.

Now I think I've got a hemmeroid. More to come...
