I need some advice so I turn to the members of this board. Please help me o’ gurus of computer wisdom. ^_^

I just moved into a new PC case. With 4 fans, 2 cold cathodes, 6 LEDs, el glow wire, and well the rest of the guts of my computer, I have wires everywhere. What is making me twitch is the rats nest where 7 Molex connecters are arranged in a series to power all the fans and lights.

My question: In addition to putting wire selves on the connecters that have to be out in the open, is it possible for me to shrink the number of Molex connectors that are cluttering my case?
I was thinking about shortening the wires from the PSU in some spots and in others putting the power and ground wires from several similar accessories to one Molex connector instead of 2. There by reducing the number of connections and resolving some of my clutter issues.

Will this work? (I think it will, but I live by the idea of measure twice and cut once.) I wait for some good replies with wire strippers in hand.

Anyway.....there a number of ways to do it. Personally im not too much of a fan of cutting any wires that come off of the psu.......just not worth it........what kind of PSU is it.......are you running short on leads. My psu has four leads and ten molex ends and it more than enough to power everything and still run out of the way.....

I power (and control the speed of) 6 fans with a relatively inexpensive 3.5" fan controller.
It needs 1 4 pin molex for power and has 4 - 3 pin outputs for the fans. I use Y cables to control 2 fans from one output.

If you're interested, do a search for "4 channel fan controller".

You could also just solder up an adapter to power several fans from 1 molex, but be careful that the fan load dosen't exceed psu output on that line.

also be cautious of overloading the molex connecter itself. I cant remember the limit that they are able to support at the moment.

What is the wattage of the psu you are using to power all of this stuff? And what kind of case is all this jammed into?
