soo, i have xaser 3 i gots a aero 7+ hs w/vantec tornado on lp rev.b... anybody who has this board know how high and to left the proc and h/s is. the i gots 2 exhaust fan in bak 2 intake side, 2 intake front, i blow hoole.
so bak exhuast is vantec fan 36cfm minute and stck tt fan, side both vantec 36cfm
frnt vantec 36cfm and tt sf2.
so i wonder having heat sink only bout 1/2 inch away from top exhuast fan(stck tt fan) and then the vantec would mess up the air flow to cpu resulting in higher temps.
remember i gots all grill cuts out. and 2 vantec 36cfm blowin on mobo i.e. side panel

i think you should be fine.....but maybe add another blowhole to get more exhaust than intake.....always proves beter to get that crappy air out of there

well i think there is more exhuast than intake... i think. there is psu (vantev stealth 520w) both exhuast fans the aero blower on blow hole duty. and then intake there is the hard drive rack limiting a certain amount of air not flowin so i think i got the intake_exhuast handled.
just that q bout the fan positioning i read somewhere else that the fan should be pointed inwards would that help??

Actually, tryleaving the fan away from the heatsink. Its possible that it is just giving the heatsink some very turbulant air which is very undesireable.

take it from me, more fans only guarantees more noise, not cooler temps. I'm with josh on the notion of not venting DIRECTLY next to the heatsink. A blow-hole, however, wouldn't be a terrible idea. Because the aerodynamics of a case are EXTREMELY complex (especially with several fans redirecting air), trial and error has perhaps the most logic.

I couldn't have said it better myself . . . trial and error. That is definately the best way to do it.
