I'm looking for a power inverter small enough to fit into a Diamond Mako / Revo. Several people have done this, so their out there. But where?

Welcome to the forums daristotle,

I searched far and wide for such a thing and came up with zilch. I had to refresh my memory and find out exactly what the Diamond Mako is...and after I found out and looked at I couldn't imagine fitting a power inverter inside this PDA.

First of all, why do you want to put it physically inside?
I'm thinking you want to make it more portable by having this power inverter inside the PDA, then all you had to carry with you would be the cord to plug into your car, right?

Second, you said several people have done this...who? Provide us with links to what you're talking about...

The power inverter is to power a backlight. Mako lacks one for some reason.
This guy in Korea has done it:: http://www.kpsiug.net/plus/board.php3?table=tip&query=view&l=66&p=1&go=5
I emailed he and he said the inverter he got was meant for business sells only.
He wanted $50 plus exchange costs, plus shipping for a kit. I was hoping there was a cheaper way.

Let me go back to my references as I saw several that mentioned what you want to do...I'll reply back on this either tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks.

After contacting several major companies dealing with chip circuitry, design, and parts and going into discussion about what you want to do...your best bet is to just order that kit from Korea.

A) It'll be cheaper (trust me)
B) It'll be quite easier and quicker IMO.

I'm still searching for those who've done something similar to see if we could find an alternative...
