Moved to Computer cooling.

bigger fan = more airflow and less noise.

Very very good combination.

LOL - that is just about the ugliest thing I have ever seen! Funny when you think about what that gigantic thing is meant to cool!! Is that supposed to rival watercooling or somehting?? LOL - how much does it weigh ( Ithink I just heard my motherboard scream with horror) :)

I dont care how it looks if it does a better job than the 948 and weight isnt a problem, i'll damn sure stick it on. :) (Cheaper than watercooling....I hope)

Does it say what type of metal this thing is? Surely it cant be copper or it would weigh a ton.

I just read the artical and its made from aluminum and weighs 220grams less than the SP-94 . Hmmm this thing could mean some serious cooling.
To bad they didnt give any preformance results.

it couldnt be nickel plated copper and only weigh 220grams!! the nickel plating alone would weigh that. And remember copper conducts heat more efficiently than aluminum. And silver more than copper!! I want a silver waterblock damnit!

I meant that it weighs 220grams lighter than the SP-94 not that it weighed 220.

370g is feather weight compared to most of the new Heat sinks, i thought it would be about 800g at least judging by those pics!

This should be a beauty!

http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/cpu-tri-12.html

it mounts just like all of the other thermalright P4 blocks. 4 screws and a backing plate. And yes you have to remove your motherboard to mount it.

Isn't this the one.....370g and $63 bucks Newegg. Looks like it clips on. Doubt it would fit on my max3 though.

wow big price difference from newegg to frozencpu. I think that shipping would be about the same for me. I think I would go for the $49, but it would depend on shipping.

Looking at the Motherboard Compatibility charts, the most popular overclocking boards require "tilting capacitors" to install this heatsink!

Since overclockers are a major target for this product, it makes me wonder if Thermalright did any research on compatibility before designing this thing
