If the basis of Corsair's claim to fame is by using the particular memory chip...
Then using that same part number:
Winbond W942508BH-5
could you not find other manufacturers that are also using it as well?
I have seen other makers using it in their slower speed (PC3200) chips.
ADATA Winbond W942508BH-5 CL=2.5 PC3200/DDR400
Kingston Winbond W942508BH-5 CL=2.5 PC3200/DDR400
and ...
Corsair CMX512-3200 XMS3200v2.1 512MB CL=2.5 PC3200/DDR400

Now, are the XMS3500 modules nothing more than hand picked chips that pass the 434 tests?
Merely 'golden sample' PC3200 chips?
I understand the 3500 has no approved specs...so this is more a 'smoke and mirrors' chip than an advancement in speed/quality?

I am just trying to justify to myself spending 183.00USD for a single 512MB stick of RAM.......lol
