| too small. Most of the airflow comes from the edges of the fan, which are being blocked i'ld shave another 1 or 3 cm off |

I agree with meobius. It needs to be a little bigger in order to push all that air out.
You did a great job! What did you use for tools? _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

Very nice tutorial . . . HEY, they took my tape idea! I started using that whilst cutting oak plywood and moved it into the computer world. Oh well, at least they are sharing it. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

You could try using mesh for a grill. Its not very strong but it does look very clean when you stretch it tight and screw it down b/n the fan and the case. _________________ JayDubya aka JW Jay JD ^> ﺵ |

quick suggestion, how about using a plastic port used for base speaker and subs, available is many sizes and cost penneys. best bit is the give a nice finish to the outside and havea deep tube that could be used to duct air. They are also gas flowed, so the have an extra advantage - no votex and increased air flow.

Looks great man. Ge yourself a nice looking, strong, fan and put some daimond pattern chicken wire as your grill. It won't affect air flow and you'll get a good view of the fan. Just my suggestion. _________________ "....Or as almost every word in a sentence; Tweak the tweaking tweakers!"

Wonder what the CPU would make of charged Ionised air streaming towards it I know that earth orbit Satalites are not too keen, ever see a solar flare? :)
If you have a MIL spec chip then, it might work, them things are supposed to be safe (er?) against EMP (ElectroMagnetic Pulse) from nuclear war. Hmmmm, wonder how well a MIL spec chip would overclock? Time to check e-bay I think
*disclaimer, do'nt try this even if you have a MIL chip, it's not a good way to test it*
