It's part of the heat sync.. there is a curved piece of duct work attached to the fan, running to the sync. Its supposed to created more a wind current. Personally I just thought it looked cool. =\

Yes. I was looking at the new fans Thermaltake has out. They have three blades instead of five. Its supposed to create more CFM, given the greater amount of surface area per blade. Been thinking about replacing the CPU fan with one of those.

how well would you say that duct mod works? ive always considering getting one but, i never new if it would make much difference seeing as how my cpu gets all its cold air from the side fan.

I would say pretty well. It keeps my CPU temp. between 49 and 51 degrees C. For an AMD thats not that bad. Especially while I am running Halo. But to be completely honest... that was put in during the construction of the machine so I do not have anything to comare it to. But if you take the theory of it.... it does work. =]

You know, something else to go in those bays would be nice. When I get the time I am going to solder in a cigarrette lighter (not for cigarettes) for a phone or other car utilities as well as a few pots, switches, and leds. These will all be put into one or 2 5.25" panels. I've done it for a few ppl already and i think the pay is the only thing that motivates me any more.
