I am contemplating using a case consisting of cardboard and other non-conductive materials. I was wondering if I should connect the grounding point on the motherboard to the case of the power supply.
There was an addendum insert in the box with my board and they were very insistent to point out that the board should be grounded to the chasis. That's why I figure attaching it to the case of the power supply is a thing to consider.
What do you all think? |

| I figure that in a normal case, the backplane that the motherboard bolts to is physically grounded to all metal components, including the case of the power supply. So that's my logic. |

My thought is to make a grounding harness and connecting it to the power supply case, the hard drive case and the motherboard at one or two fo the grounding points on the motherboard.
For this mod, I just want to make a platform for an email server that I can have under my desk , at work. I want to get some practice for Microsoft Exchange Exam and want a lab handy at work. |

| Any hint of EMI noise bieng picked up by other nearby devices? I tend to defer towards your practical experience on this. If 'Plank' can do it so can this fledgling plan. I'll know better today, just need a few more nuts and bolts and assembly can begin. |
