It seems to me that once a post is made, u can only delete it if nothing else has been posted under it? Is this so, and if this is true then why not make the edit button to only be able to edit the last post. This way, threads wouldnt get ruined and people could still edit mistakes. If this isnt how it works then nevermind but i cant delete my old posts like someone else said, only after i just posted them.
