I am planning on doing some cooling mods to my computer and I was wondering, what are some of the best techniques you guys use to keep your rigs cooled, except for watercoolers, thanks.

Blow holes, Fan Ducts, More fans.............fridge/freezer ? j/k

But seriously, Blow holes and fan ducts are good ways of cooling...also more fans of course cant be bad, and good cable management.

I'm using a thermalright SP-94 and 92mm tornado (on a fan controller), I'm not O/C'd yet, but....29*c idle, 39*c loaded (prime95 torture test). ;^)

i would try to stay away from the tornados, personally. in my own humble opinion, they are loud and/or whiney at any speed. a blowhole really helps get rid of all that heat.

well..I can't actually vouch for the accuracy, the temps are from a sensor taped to the underside of the heatsink, right next to the cpu. the unit is built into the X-S Alien case

You're right JD, the tornado is kinda loud at full-tilt, but I have a total of 9 fans in my case, all controlled, so if I'm gaming, I just crank up the logitech Z-5300's
when idling i have them at about 40% and its pretty quiet, (I can live with it)
I may go with a panaflo soon

tornadoes do not get loud at very low rpm's my friends has his tornado at the lowest possible before it gets turned off and it keeps his computer at 35 idle and 45 full load and you cant really hear it, hes running a 2500+ non mobile

One importnant thing that many people dont think about sometimes........make sure all your wiring is out of the way of your airflow...........

you can have 37 case fans arranged in the most perfect setup of intakes and exhausts, but if you have a HUGE bundle of wires blocking your fans.......that cirulation will suffer........=]

least resitance air is the best

You do not need the tornadoes for proper cooling.

What you need is airflow balance.

Intake slightly lower than exhaust.

35cfm per fan is all you will need.

That does look nice.

Though, you could get heatsinks for a fraction of the price to perform almost as well.
