|
|
When using the Start Menu you will notice a delay between different tiers of the menu hierarchy displaying. For the fastest computer experience possible I recommend changing this value to zero. This will allow the different tiers to appear instantly.
Go to Start -> Run and type regedit and hit OK.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and select MenuShowDelay from the list on the right.
Right-click on it and select Modify. Change the value to 0.
Reboot your computer. |

For all of it's glitz and polish, I have been really bothered by how slow XP seems to be. You've eliminated one of my gripes. Thanks!
Anyone else wish that Microsoft would come out with a barebones version of XP? Give us the security, etc., but cut out ALL of the fluff.... |

No problem, bud. Hehe, I hear ya about the fluff thumbs. That's what a lot of asked when we saw the first WinXP Beta's...at any rate that eye candy has kinda grown on me
As for these graphic extra's that take away performance, I'll post some more tips/tweaks that get rid of that so you can gain back some of those resources. :)
