|
|
Not sure if I'm posting in the right section but what the hay...
After logging onto a profile, I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and then click the Processes tab.
Every time I log in, I have to execute the command End Process to:
NOPDB.EXE & msmsgs.exe
I've just fixed up my computer of a HiJack virus and now I just want to clean these last 2 things up, which brought me here!
If theres a way, and I know there is, to stop these processes from running automatically, Please let me know :) |

msmsgs.exe is msn messenger if you dont use msn messenger then go to start > run and copy this into the run box and hit enter RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
ive done this everytime i have ahd to format casue i never use msn messanger, now for the otheer .exe file all you do is go to start > run and type in msconfig, when msconfig opens up go to the startup tab and see waht has a checked box next to it if the .exe file is in there then uncheck the box and press okay and then restart to see if ti works, when your comp starts back up a box will open up telling to some blah balh blah just check the small box inside the small window that pops up and then cliock dont start up every time or something like that doing this will keep those 2 files from starting up everytime. and you can do it with anything that wants to start its self up. |

NOPBD is associated with norton speed disk.........this does not have to be running.....if you are running windows 2000, then there IS NO MSCONFIG......
go to www.windowsstartup.com and dowload their software.......it'll do the same thing

Thanks for the help guys.
Okay, I got rid of msmsgs.exe on startup, but the NOPDB.EXE is still running?
And yes, I'm running XP Pro. When I went to msconfig-startup, I noticed some things that were unchecked that I will never have run on startup again; how can I get rid of these?

Okay, maybe you can just tell me which one is running NOPDB.EXE or the one I don't need on startup. These are the programs running on startup:
(Listed below have check marks on my Startup tab)
-NvCpl
-nwiz
-ccApp
-ccRegVfy
-qttask
-NvMcTray
(These here dont have checkmarks)
-qttask (The 2nd one)
-oyhxtre (?)
-wupdt (?) |
