They are programs to speed up your OS, primarily for use in games.
I tried one (Speed Gear 5.0), and it appeared to speed up everything, but I also read about someone "frying his system after about a month" of using a speeder.
Would using a speeder be some sort of overclocking issue where heat issues are a concern?
TIA |

I would read this guide it has alot of useful tips for XP, works great.
I dont believe speeders will cause any heat related problems. _________________ Abit Max3, Intel2.4@ 3.42, 9800pro 460core/380mem., 2 Raptors raid0 |

I've done some of the tweak thingys, but speeders are different. They appear to speed up the system's clock so that that cursor blinks very rapidly, animations are at high speed, etc. (This increase in speed is not always desirable... it totally screws up my real-time stock market charting program, and if the speed is too high, Windows Media Player malfunctions..) |

Don't use speed tweakers.
Tweak your system the right way by doing the settings yourself. _________________ Owner & Administrator
