Anyone have a website that gives .net Server tweaks? I have Enterprise (Legit Copy) on a p2 400 with 192 megs of ram. It runs ok, the minimum from MS is 133 and the recommended is a 733. Memory 128 minimum and 256 recommended. So would it just be in my best interest to upgrade the hardware before trying to tweak the system?
The problem is I am hosting a php site (testing) with php 4.3.1 and mysql 4.1 and with normal queries and regular pages it runs decent. But when it comes to queries with joins or a large result return it chugs for about 4-5 seconds on like 2 records on a inner join.
So I dunno if that is the hardware or perhaps I need to tweak it more? I just hope it isnt software because I wont be able to go to linux
I only have a legit copy of Windows 2k Pro which does come with IIS but I dunno if thats such a good idea. But I might not have a choice. I will look into linux but I am 99.99% sure I will not be allowed to use linux
Your thoughts? So you think it is the operating system slowing it down? I wouldnt put it past it. It has more built in functionality then any other Windows OS I have seen
