When you put two or more pieces of software together, there's bound to be contentions. Some software is more touchy than others; having the latest versions doesn't always guarantee system stability. Your newly downloaded game may be the life of the party... until a renegade application comes along to crash it. "IEXPLORE caused a general protection fault in module CM8330.DRV at 0006:0000196c." Well, General -- I'd like to you to meet Admiral Troubleshooter. Pull up the find applet and look for the 'module' in 'My Computer.' When it pops up, right click on it and pull up the properties. Flip over to the 'Version' tab to see if it has a description. Ah, 'CM8330.DRV' is for the sound card! NOTE: this tip won't always work, but it may come in handy once or twice.
