Ok I'll admit it, I ripped off Nates thread name. Both Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 are finally gonna be released.

yeah Doom3 is gonna be a remake of the original Doom with much better graphics, AI, and gameplay.

A step up is an understatement, i just cant wait, so many good, sorry, evolutionary, games being released in such a short time span.

some people i know say doom 3 will be no different and a load of sh*t, but with the changes that FreeTheRock mentioned and many more, i doubt anyone will see any similarities to doom 1, except its on mars!

The thing is, they haven't released a lot of information about Doom. So the first time you play it, you will be totally surprised. I can't wait to see what ID have in store for us.

Havent you guys seen the demos they have released? The one that I have played was awesome to say the least. It was so beautiful I couldnt help but stand there and take the abuse (sorry had god mode on) and just watch these creatures tear at my flesh. Its enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end.

I cant wait for the real thing!

Well they haven't released any demos. But I guess your talking about the illegal alpha that was leaked. Don't even bother getting it now, the real game is so close that it wouldn't be worth it to get the alpha.

only doom demos i know of are the several beta's!
I havent played any of them, but as pyro psycho said, there is no point playing it now, it will just ruin all of the build up to the real thing!

Sorry KoG, yeah the one at E3 looked good, I think it's almost the same as the leaked alpha. And I don't think that website has been updated in awhile. Last thing I remember that was new was the trailer, which has been almost 3 months.

That's what I heard, too. Hopefully they can stick to it. Best Buy has their date set as 8/5/04 instead of 3, but still in the ballpark.

I had a brief chance to see the leaked Alpha demo, and even though it didn't run all that well on the machine it was on, it was enough to sell me on it. I'll definitely be picking up Doom 3.

There is no point disucssing release dates for Doom 3, HL2 and Halo 2...these type of games with so much anticipation are always delayed, and the producers never release a release date until a month before. Stores will always guess ROUGH dates in order to get some pre-orders in and boost business. The public must sit and wait unfortunately...and no more talk on leaked alphas/betas...nate will not approve of it!

Come on, at least Doom 3 should be out by now! I'm more anxious for that ga,e than I am for other games, except for any new Zelda games... hehe I LOVE Zelda.

that new zelda game for gamcube is out but i am wondering why it looks like a gameboy advanced game on the gamecube kinda weird looking, i thought the next one after windwaker would be like realistic graphics like on the N64.

I saw that BestBuy is selling the original Doom for $15. It seems as if, if they cant sell you the new game they will just make a few bucks off of people who dont still have the old game.
