PSU connectors

I will confess my noobness in that I don't really know what SATA is....I believe it's the new form of scuzzi but way faster that lets you have like 10000 rpm hard drives but i'm not sure. Anyway this new psu i'm looking at doesn't have Sata connectors attached to it. If your psu doesn't have a sata connector can you not use SATA devices at all? or is there an adaptor you can buy to make it work? Thanks

i dont know much about how sata works either....but if im not mistaken there ARE adapters you can buy.......there are also harddrive adapters as well i believe, to make your current harddrive run sata.....=]

Some of the PSU's you get now have the adapters included. That is if they dont have the SATA connecters already.

Some of the HDD's have both the molex and SATA power capabilities. I know the two Western Digital drives that I have, have the molex as well. But the Seagate that I have does not have the molex.

You will have to buy a SATA power cable and have a fully SATA capable motherboard to take full advantage of a SATA drive.
