up until about a month ago i have been able to play battlefield 1942 perfectly fine on highest settings. then uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game because i reinstalled windows and the game runs like crap. I have the latest patches and everything but it still runs lower that 40 fps most of the time. even if i set all the video and sound settings to the lowest they go and lower the resolution as low as it goes it still runs badley. im pretty sure its not a hardware problem since halo pc runs perfectly fine. and when i hit escape wile playing a game, the game gets all weird and i have to quite and go back in. any suggestions on what might be the problem would be greatly helpful.

Note: i have the Cat 3.8 drivers.

when you reformatted did you do a quick or full reformat? always do a full if you didn't.

you may want to get the latest chipset drivers and the latest CAT drivers too.

Cat. has the 4.4 drivers now might wanna try them.

If all else fails try reinstalling the game again.

^^^ my next suggestion

are you overclocking? if so, you will want to back down to stock speeds for the install to make sure none of the files get corrupted.

I don't think its spyware as i dont have a internet connection on that computer yet. But u turned on hardware acceleration in the sound options and that really helped.

P.S is it possible that the card is being underpowered?

very possible. . . do you have that 350watt psu that came with the xdreamer2? if so, you'll need at least 400watts (450+ reccomended for intel and 9800xt). it looks like that psu would be strained to the max. try checking your voltage rails for fluctuations too.
