Hi,
I am new i this forum and I hope someone can help me ! My Computer (quite new AMD 2700 +, Asus Mainboard ... Windows XP Pro) Turn itself into standby mode the other night and won't awake from it !! I have tried everything incl. pulling the power plug but as soon as you plug it back in the only thing that happens is that the fans start running again. Anybody have a tip what to do. This was not the first time it turned itself into sleep mode - usually all I had to do was click the mouse button and it would awake. I need to find a way to reboot the damn thing !!
Thanks alot !!

This is not a software problem.
A piece of your hardware has failed. Maybe swap in anothervideocard, ram, cpu to troubleshoot. _________________ Owner & Administrator

By swapping out components.
Also, do you have the clear CMOS jumper on properly? _________________ Owner & Administrator

Hi,
Did you get solution to your problem.
I'm also facing a similar problem. My monitor goes into standby mode the moment I boot up. I had rectified it once from a technician & ended up paying huge amount. After 20 -25 days, the problem again started (I didn't operate my PC for a week).
Now I feel I should do it myself than empty my pocket. I'm taking this as a challenge.
There is no beep & no display, the monitor light just blinks. I tested my monitor in other system & it works well. I also opened up my cpu to figure out about motherboard, bios et al but was scared to do anything wrong. I'm not a hardware person but wish to know the details of this problem.
Please help!!
Thanks,
Jas |

i had a similar kind of problem a long time ago with the the PC not coming out of standby mode. Turned out that the cables for the Hard Drive werent connected properly and it worked fine after.
This may be your problem, good luck! _________________ »4 RS«»1Ж «»1 DENE«»1 FREAKIN LAME OH«»1 MONEY MONEY«

Have you checked to see if your bios is setup properly? _________________ Owner & Administrator

Thanks for all your response.
Sorry for asking some ignorant questions.
How do i check whether the bios is set properly or not? What is CMOS? How do I clear it. I'm not able to see anything on my machine. How do I go to the power settings. |

| and if you fix it, go into the power inthe control panel and shut off standby mode, just shut your computer off or put a screen saver on |
